Dining Out Budget 02•25•2019

Have you ever printed your bank statement and did a full analytic review? If not, you should. Try pulling the last three months of statements and highlighting where your money is spent the most.  My biggest money guzzler is FOOD! When I say food I definitely do not mean groceries.  I can have a fridge full of groceries and still want to dine out.  I live in a extremely diverse city where the options are massive.  Everywhere you turn there’s a restaurant serving something you never tried with drinks specials to go with it. It’s like a never ending vacation! A blessing and a curse at the same time.  When I look at my bank statements and tally up all the money spent on dining out I am completely embarrassed. Just yesterday I decided to embark a new journey. A journey that would be better for my body and my pockets. I decided to add a limit on dining out and focus on eating at home more. If you’re finding yourself in the same struggle let’s take this on together.

The first thing we need to do is figure out why we’re dining out so much. What sticks out the most for me is what I’m cooking at home. Take for example, one of my closest friends and her husband are chefs. They make these amazing meals at home and barely eat out. They hardly eat out because the food they cook is so interesting that nothing in a restaurant is exciting anymore. I think I’m bored with what I usually prepare, leading me to get out and try new foods at different restaurants. If you’re on the same page, you and I both need to invest in more cookbooks or download more apps like Tasty, this will give us more ideas on what to make. I don’t eat pork or beef so I’m running out of ideas of what to cook. These cookbooks will put our interests back in the kitchen or help us cook for those who aren’t the best at it. I won’t say “let’s meal prep” because people that dine out a lot love eating new food. We don’t want leftovers. We are spoiled! These cookbooks will us find small and affordable meals so we won’t have to meal prep for the week with the same meal spread out for 5 days.
The other thing we love about dining out are the drinks. I have my own personal stock of liquor but have no idea how to make a good drink. Aging has really changed what I can and can’t drink anymore. Any hard liquor alone can take me out! Now, I’ve gone back to my amateur days, I can only tolerate cocktails as long as they aren’t too sweet and have rum somewhere in the equation. Once we learn how to make the drinks we love we won’t have to spend thousands to have someone make them for us.

Let’s be realistic, we love trying new restaurants and new foods. We love being foodies. Eliminating the option to explore isn’t logical. We need to allow ourselves at least two weekend days a month to enjoy a new restaurant. I don’t know about you but I cook for my child everyday and then am meeting someone for dinner or lunch! It’s ridiculous. Cutting down to just two days a month is going to save us so much money. I’m so excited! Click the contact us link in our homepage to share your recipes or pics of new meals and drinks you decided to make. I can’t wait to see them!

Love after a Fuck Boy/Girl

So you finally did it. You finally ended that bittersweet toxic relationship and it probably took you 20 tries to get it right. None of that matters. Only thing that matters now is you’re free. If you’ve been in this situation like I have, you know leaving that person alone is actually easier than moving on. It’s funny because I know that you’ve picked yourself up, stared at yourself in the mirror like: “It’s on”, “I’m about to fuck the summer up”, “I’m out here”.    You bought all the nicest outfits, reinvented your entire look, bought tickets to the hottest beaches and had a great couple of months after your breakup.  One day, after all the fun and all the trips, something triggered you. Whether it was a holiday, a wedding, or a baby shower. Something clicked, and you’re like ok I’m ready to try this shit again.  Now that you've established that you’re ready to start dating again.  You get the ball rolling however you do it.  Sliding in DM’s, Tinder, Airdrop in the c

Toxicity 1•20•2019

So we are over half way through the first month of 2019.    How many people have you actually cut off like you told all of your social media followers you would?    If your answer is no don’t feel bad.    You’re only a small percent of the millions of people being victimized by toxicity.    I also have been blinded by toxic friends, lovers, jobs and family members.    Whether you like to admit it or not, keeping toxicity around us rubs off.    You may not realize it, but because of your interactions with toxic situations and toxic people, you have acquired some toxic traits.    Hopefully after reading this article we will all start the process of removing toxicity from our lives, but I hope we also are able to identify our own toxic characteristics and avoid victimizing other people and being apart of the never ending circle. There are so many toxic situations surrounding us but the most popular are friends, lovers, family members and jobs.    Within all of these situations I’

Relocating 01•10•2019

So you’re thinking about relocating?    My first question to you would be why?!    You may be asking yourself ‘Who died and made her the relocation expert?’ ‘Why does she want to know my reasons for moving?’    Let me say this, I’ve been in your shoes, twice. My first move from home wasn’t as successful and it was partially because I was running away from something. When we run away from things we are so focused on putting the present behind us that we have little time to think about the future.    We just want to wake up somewhere else and not have to deal with what’s going on at home.    My first move, I packed my things, ran out on my lease, and moved with family “until I got on my feet”.    Listen, everything I just said is a recipe for disaster!    I’ve been in the sunshine state for over 3 years now and wanted to share how I got here.  Do your research! Before I moved I went to Barnes and Noble and bought 3 books on Florida. I needed questions answered and to make sure t
